80 days until Christmas 2024

Days are flying by and time is running out and before you know it, it'll be December. (Which, by quick math, will be here in 55 days, which is crazy.)

What have I done so far to prepare?

  1. I've gone to the local hardware store several times to check the progress of their Christmas department.
  2. I've begun stocking up on chocolates.
  3. I've started creating list of literature gifts to order online.

That is it.

Back in 2018, 80 days until Christmas meant that you should start thinking about Christmas recipes. I definitely haven't done that. I literally have given it zero thought this year so far.

(To my defense, though, I reckon I did too much too early in terms of Christmas back in 2018; these days, I know better and save most of the hassle for late November and December.)

So no, this isn't necessarily the date to start thinking about recipes and dishes and whether you dislike cooking or baking. However, this might be the time to start thinking about which projects you want to bring to a close before the festive season starts.

Which is something I usually have figured out by the 100-day mark.

What was it again? Weekly Wyat season 2? Publish two fics and one non-fic? Read all the books in that freaking pile?

All that sounds too little! I need to take the ring to Mordor! I need to exhaust myself to earn the holiday!

And I need to start putting together Christmas recipes!

RK out.

P.S. Rutabaga casserole, rice pudding, roast beef with mustard, mulled wine, chocolates, gingerbread ice cream. See? That wasn't so hard. What was I going on about?
