Either way, it's up to you
Okay.
All those people who have hurt you, wronged you, or insulted you - they're not coming to apologize. Chances are they don't even remember the situation that burdens you so much. So you can let that memory continue to weigh you down, or you can let go of it and move on, like all your wrongdoers have. It's up to you.
You can stay in your negative self talk, the one that you've become accustomed to in all these years of negative self talk. Or you can see the habit for what it really is, decide to change it, and take action towards more positive self talk, and see where it takes you. Your thoughts, both good and bad, live inside your head and dictate how you see the world. You can decide those thoughts. It's up to you.
Your desire to outsource responsibility might feel like a good idea to get back at those who have pushed you into the victim mentality. But they will never know, and they will never learn from your suffering. This is not the way to get even with them; this is the way to make your life miserable with no benefits. Another way is to take full responsibility of everything that has ever happened to you and see that as the active agent of your own life, you get to decide what it looks like, every last detail of it. But you can choose either. It's up to you.
You can live in your bad memories, or let go and create new, happy ones.
You can suffer from abuse that no longer exists, or you can let go and decide to suffer no more.
You can think of yourself as the victim - of bullies, of circumstances, of the universe - or you can let go and become someone who takes on challenges with excitement.
Either way, it's up to you.
No one can make the choice for you.
