Giant mosquitoes and other lovely things about summer
I was just sitting by my desk and outlining a story when a gigantic mosquito buzzed by.
Actually, it didn't buzz. At all. Which was weird, because usually mosquitoes have this high-pitched buzz that I've learned to fear.
But it was gigantic. The biggest I had seen in years. And it was just flying there, minding its own business, and I was trying to decide if I should smash it or not.
When it comes to summer and all the lovely things about it, mosquitoes are just the tip of the iceberg. Here are some other lovely things:
- Sunburns and heat strokes.
- Lethargy.
- Sweat.
- Warm beer.
- Freedom from good ideas and passion.
Nevertheless, the situation isn't as hopeless as you'd think. Like all things, summer comes with a dark side as well, and that dark side consists of some pretty heavy shit:
- Swimming in the sea.
- Appropriately cooled sparkling wine.
- Fans.
- Watermelon.
- Road trips.
Will the glass be half full or half empty? Only time will tell.
