I finished building Lego Gringotts

After 31 weeks, the Lego Gringotts set I bought in January (as a part of my 9x500 challenge) is finally finished. I built one step per week, starting in early February, and now, it stands on a pedestal by my bedroom window.

And boy, is it handsome! It's so cool! It's so large that it gets in the way! (That's what she said!)

Seriously, though, I had so much fun with it. Here are some observations about the process and other stuff regarding the project:

  1. Did I mention the set is so cool? It has incredible details and references to the movies and whatnot. The structure is designed wonky (yet it's perfectly stable) and it actually features the dragon!
  2. The ultimate coolest thing about the set? Bellatrix Lestrange's vault. I mean, are you kidding me?! If you know, you know!
  3. The set features the philosopher's stone.
  4. Also, what's up with hiding gemstones inside structures that never get opened? Are they Easter eggs or what?
  5. The finished thing is so glorious that I'd want to display it 24/7, but I need to find a new place for it since I need my designated Lego desk for building the next project. Where do I put it? It's huge! (That's what she said.)

Well, I have until next Tuesday to figure this display-place-situation thing out before I start building the next one: the Natural History Museum. (You can find a full rundown on all the sets I've bought this year here.)

RK out.
