I finished The Age of Reason
I mentioned last week that I was having unpredictable side effects from reading Sartre's The Age of Reason. Although I don't know how unpredictable you can call it if you get an existential crisis from reading existential literature. Although it wasn't really a crisis.
I mean, when it comes to existential crises, nothing compares to Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut.
Anyway, as mentioned in the post, I ended up eating chocolate cake and then regretting it and never getting to buying new jeans as I was supposed to.
But now, or more specifically, about twenty minutes ago, I finished reading the book, and it was wonderful. Truly brilliant. Although I can't decide if the ending was predictable, a cop-out, anticlimactic, or absolutely perfect. Probably the last one.
Darn it. I've been reading some excellent literature lately.
Moving on to Bram Stoker - my fall 2025 Gothic writer of choice - my hopes are high for the quality streak to continue!
