I need to learn to keep my mouth shut

Despite my usual oh so elegant grace and whatnot, I have one quality that goes completely against my usual sophistication: if I have strong opinions about a subject, and someone who is seemingly an authority on the same subject disagrees with me, I have great difficulty to sit silently and listen to what they have to say. It comes off as picking a fight. Which it probably is, at least subconsciously. But it's not graceful, and I don't benefit from it in any way.

It would be much better to quietly listen to what they have to say, pretend that I'm listening wholeheartedly with the intent to learn from them, and then do what I know to be best when I'm no longer in their presence.

Such subjects include diet, taxation, and orthodontics, among others.

Also, I have better things to think about than proving some expert wrong. Like getting that 13th book done and finished and shipped before the month ends.
