Movie recommendation: Fall (2022)

I'm known to give movie recommendations from time to time, especially in the Weekly Wyat Podcast. However, before anyone should take movie recommendations from me, here are a few disclaimers:

  1. I have a strong bias for movies about prison escapes.
  2. I absolutely and wholeheartedly h*** Pretty Woman (1990), the most overrated movie of all time.
  3. I have a soft spot for movies that make up for small budgets with killer screenplays.

So, taken the hard evidence above about my superior ability to judge the quality of movies, here's a movie that will make acrophobes faint and non-acrophobes throw up: Fall (2022) by Scott Mann.

In Fall, two mountain climbers climb a 2000-foot old TV tower, the ladder of which breaks and falls off, leaving them stranded at the top.

Now, I don't have a fear heights. But man, did I feel the chills! The cinematographer just has to show off these insane camera angles! I think I said I had changed my mind about watching the film when they had only started climbing the tower at the beginning of the movie - and let me repeat, I don't have a fear of heights.

I don't care what anyone says about the screenplay, whether it's realistic or loophole-free or not - I loved this movie.
