November starts, where is Mordor?
As I predicted, the amount of work I listed for this fall a couple of weeks back is wayyy too little work listed for this fall. I mean, how naive - I thought I'd run out of work mid-November.
Mid-November?! I'm basically done already! The manuscripts are done, the non-fic is done, there's only one episode of the Weekly Wyat left, I finished the Koran, and having no sugar or artificial sweeteners is so easy that it's no trouble at all. I mean, sure, I haven't read all the physics and math books, but c'mon, I know math already, and I've actually had to hold myself back to not read all the physics books in one sitting. (For someone with a master's degree in a physics field, they're quite elementary.)
So what the hell do I think I'm doing? Where's Mordor? How am I taking the ring to Mordor with all the work done by November 1st? There's over four weeks left! I need to earn Angels From the Realms of Glory! I need to earn my Christmas holiday! Lazing around for a whole month is not going to cut it!
More work! I need more work!
Now, don't worry. I have a plan. The plan is to create more work out of thin air. I'm very good at creating more work out of thin air. So that's what I'm going to do.
- Write another non-fic. Maybe even three.
- I'm sure there's some fiction in the world that needs editing, formatting, and publishing, too. So that.
- What else... what else... Ugh, I'm blanking out.
Maybe that's the problem: I keep thinking in terms of my business - the publishing business. But maybe I could add something new? Something other than publishing, WIP, reading books, or restricting sugar? I know I'm starting a new business next year (wow, I actually said that out loud!), so maybe I could do something about that? A head start, so to speak?
4. Get a head start on the new business.
Now that I put it like this... I'm actually getting quite giddy.
What's more, there's suddenly enough work to fill my November.
RK out.
