Thanksgiving 2024
First: Thanksgiving isn't a thing where I live. I live in Europe, and based on my quick research, the European countries that have a similar holiday call it a harvest festival, so perhaps it's not the same. Anyway, where I live, we don't have either.
BUT! I think Thanksgiving is a beautiful idea! You can express your gratitude not only for the fruits of the harvest, but also for whatever else you're grateful for! How wonderful is that!
So, in the spirit of thanks, I shall now give some thanks and express gratitude for all the cool things in my life.
- I'm grateful for my faith. Thank you, God, for always lifting my fears off my back and leading me in the right direction.
- I'm grateful for my expanding family. Not only did our little Satan of a puppy join our clan, but I was also lucky enough to meet a new human member just this summer; she's a wonderful person and an amazing addition to my extended family.
- I'm grateful for my work and that I get to do it, instead of having to suffer through my old job that was killing my soul. And when it comes to work, I'm grateful that I finally have the courage to move on to a new field that has excited me for as long as I can remember.
- I'm grateful for all the money I have and all the money that I will have. It allows me to live instead of simply wait for death, and that is a significant thing.
- I'm grateful for yesterday's meditation session that taught me that I don't need to obsess over little things - that letting go of such obsessions can be as easy as breathing. I felt so light and joyous afterwards. Thank you.
- I'm grateful for the upcoming Christmas, the most epic Christmas of my life so far. The joy will be abundant. I can't wait for Sunday!
- I'm grateful for 2025 and all the wonderful things that it will bring. Whatever awesome stuff you have in store, I'm ready and open to receive!
- I'm grateful that the snow of last week melted away and we have dark, stormy, windy, autumnal, moody evenings again. I love the Slytherin ambiance. It makes my heart burst with happiness.
- I'm grateful for my ability to lower my i value, decrease my neuroticism, and demolish my scarcity mindset. It's amazing how far I've come, and I can't wait to see how much further I can take myself if I continue evolving!
- And finally... I'm grateful for my partner. He's the smartest, funniest, and most life-affirming person I know (not to mention some other qualities that I can't mention here). He calls me out when I need it; he allows me to weed out my weaknesses by offering an opposing will; he intrigues me with the depth of his mind. And he fixed my hopelessly broken website!
RK out (to dwell on this joyously abundant gratitude for the rest of the day).
