The two stages of a glow up

As I see it, there are two stages to a glow up:

  1. The hard part, or upgrading your mindset and subconscious beliefs. None of the following steps amount to anything without this.
  2. The easy parts, or upgrading your
  • health via diet and exercise (which then translates to energy, body composition, and skin),
  • hair (and possibly make-up),
  • wardrobe and accessories,
  • daily schedule, and
  • environments.

Since I'm entering my hot girl era as mentioned in yesterday's post, and since I've already got the hair part covered (as per yesterday's post), it's time to tackle the other parts as well.

Side note - yes, apparently I started with an easy part, although starting with the hard part might have been a good idea as well. Although although who knows, some people might have an easier time doing this the other way, since seeing physical change is often an effective hack to bring about change beneath the surface!

Anyway, back to the list -

  • Health via diet and exercise: I eat meat-based, and it seems to be working wonders on my body as I feel good in it every day. (I might try cutting back on dairy, though.) I also go to the gym several times a week and walk our dog several times a day, but I'll definitely try some new forms of exercise next year, like reformer pilates.
  • Makeup: I think I've finally found products and techniques that work for my face. So this I consider done.
  • Wardrobe and accessories: realizing that I look best in dark, muted colors and in stiffer fabrics was the moment the game changed for good. Another fun observation is that waist emphasis and dainty jewelry don't suit me like they suit other women. Light bulb!
  • Daily schedule: by this I mean stop doing the things you've been doing in the past, and instead, implement some new routines. If you're repeating the same day, you're living in the past, and nothing will change, nothing will glow up. Rewrite your day. For me, this probably means trying some new working locations and meditating more, perhaps even waking up earlier.
  • Environments: aside from trying out new working locations, new cafes, and new restaurants, change your office and home decor to reflect the glow up.

And there it is!

...not. I forgot the hard part: upgrading my mindset and subconscious beliefs.

  • I still struggle with scarcity mindset when it comes to money.
  • I still believe, subconsciously, that success is difficult to obtain.
  • I still believe, subconsciously, that I can't make any money (let alone dreamy amounts of it) in the specific field I'd like to make money in - or even if I could make some small amounts, it would be difficult, and the few customers I'd manage to trick into buying my service would think that I'm not providing any value to them.

So yeah - I'm obviously almost done with my glow up.

RK out.
