Will the leaves turn at all?
I've finally started enjoying walks outside, walks around the neighborhood, walks to the grocery store and back, walks to the nearby village cafe, but where are the colors? The temperatures are on point, and it does rain often enough, and there's wind, and even if the sun shines, it's not a hot shine but an autumnal shine - perfect for admiring the fall colors which are not there yet.
Here's the thing. I fear that there will be no colorful foliage at all this year. Usually October will see all leaves go and November will have nothing but evergreens left, so September will be the only time to fully enjoy the turning. But it's September 27th and I've seen one red branch. Everything else looks just dry and brown, if even that, since some trees have already shed most of their leaves.
I hope that this is the situation only here where we live, and once we hit the road and drive up north, the colors will be more prominent and I'll get at least one day of admiring them.
I also hope that I'm wrong and that the colors are just delayed this year, which would be nice, allowing me and everyone else to enjoy the season a bit longer.
Either way, it's fine, because the Christmas section of our favorite department store is probably opening next week!
