Is seven months a good amount of time to take off WIP? Yes. No. I don't know. But whether or not it's a good amount of time, it definitely is the amount of time. (Almost. Give or take a couple of days.)
That is to say, I'm back. I've been way too busy for the first few months of the year to miss WIP all that much, and after those months, I took a few weeks off just to relax. But for a few days now, I've been craving this outlet.
And however much I think I should just start another blog with a better name with a new name, I can't help but revere the amount of time and effort I've already poured into this project.
Ergo, here I am, in all my awkwardness of writing style and weirdness of character.
The problem is that I don't know what to write about. I've had some great changes in my personal life, but how lame would it be to talk about my personal life? Let's not talk about my personal life. No one but I would find it at all interesting.
Politics? Yeah, let's not.
The weather? Sure, it's quite autumnal for summer and I love it and my heart is bursting with happiness and all that jazz that I've talked about so many freaking times in the past already.
Current favorites cliche? Yes, current favorites cliche! That's the thing. Here's a list of my current favorites:
- I started reading Moby-Dick and it's quite amazing, warmly recommend.
- Adding cardamom to my coffee. It makes the drink taste like Christmas.
- Getting my sister a birthday present. I've really gone overboard this year. She sent me a list, and I went crazy. The wrapping should be a hoot.
- The weather. See above for a nutshell rant.
- New favorite foods! I've been making chicken breast in the oven and enjoyed it with butter. (Yes, I'm still meat-based.)
- Planning work stuff.
- Swimming in the lake.
- The view from our new home.
- New Lego sets! Recently I got the Tudor Corner and the Harry Potter Burrow sets. I'm currently assembling the former and it's great fun.
- You know when you're out but your dog doesn't know that and he comes into your view and recognizes you from a distance and starts running towards you? That.
Is there any evolution here? Am I repeating myself year in, year out? Have I developed at all, has there been any progress?
This, and much more, in the next episode of RK writes about stuff.
