I mentioned in another article that I'm still meat-based. It's been years now. I think I first went down the rabbit hole of different ways of eating in the summer of 2018, and came out meat-based in the spring of 2019.
When I say meat-based I don't mean carnivore. Carnivores seem to have this fundamentalist dogma that if you put even a little bit of black pepper on your steak, or drink coffee, you're not carnivore. However, considering that the bulk of my diet consists of meat and animal products, most omnivores would probably call me one.
So here's what I eat these days, just for the record for my future self:
Mainly beef, bacon, chicken, salmon, and tuna.
I add butter to beef and butter and spices to chicken.
I sometimes have some oven roasted potatoes.
Whenever I feel like it, I'l have a pear or a banana or some strawberries.
I drink coffee, water, champagne, and sometimes tea.
In a nutshell, I feel best when I eat all kinds of meats, no dairy (except butter), and plants that are low in fiber.
Furthermore, I made some home made banana bread with gluten free flours and can definitely say that I should not eat it. So bananas should be enjoyed as they are.
Furthermore furthermore, I've been making sure to get around 100 grams of protein per day lately, and it's been a good strategy for feeling good and energized.
The bottom line is that I don't care about labels or strictness or ideology. I don't even care about clean eating - I do sometimes enjoy commercial ice cream made with cream and sugar and whatnot. I only care about how food makes me feel.
End of record for future self.
