I desperately need nightstands

As briefly mentioned in the first post of the year, I moved recently. To tell you the truth, the process itself was quite arduous - getting rid of excess junk accumulated over the years, moving the stuff we decided to keep, cleaning, figuring out furniture placement in the new place, whatnot. But everything got done, and it got done in time.

More imortantly, though: it was worth it. Our new place is amazing. It's bigger, the layout is better, the view is better, and there's more light.

We call it the Penthouse.

However, since it's the Penthouse, it needs to be special. This was the idea from the get-go. So we got a wine cooler (the kind with a door, like a little refrigerator) and an induction cooktop and a room fragrance and luxury soaps for the bathroom to make it more spa-like. The terrace is elegant with easy chairs and blankets and a variety of flowers and greenery.

And this is just the start. After all, you can't rush a penthouse. A penthouse is special. You can't just buy whatever furniture you need - you have to consider the penthouse's needs and wants.

Therefore, I still have no ceiling lights or nightstands.

The lack of lighting is manageable right now because it's summer, but I definitely need to get more lights before autumn comes with its dark evenings. In fact, I'm waiting for word about a chandelier, so hopefully I'll get it in the upcoming weeks. But when it comes to the nightstands, the situation is even trickier, since it has turned out incredibly hard to find ones that are high enough.

So now I'm using a designer table lamp as my bedside table to place Moby-Dick on.

Which is good, because the cross-section of Moby-Dick is bigger than the cross-section of the table lamp, giving me space to place a cup of coffee and my phone on top.

Yeah, I can't live this way.
