Last week was wild! I edited, formatted, and published five books, and with the rush I’m feeling right now, I think I could continue this 5-books-a-week schedule until the end of time.
Or maybe until the end of November. But that’s basically the same.
However, here’s the thing: I do have five unfinished manuscripts waiting. This is wonderful, as I don’t need to figure out anything from scratch yet. However however, those manuscripts need a ton of work, and if I wanted to be utterly unrealistic and megalomaniac and wish to publish five books this week, I can not slack around like last week.
As if I was slacking around last week!
As much as I’d like to be utterly unrealistic, a megalomaniac, or Insanely Unreasonable, I may not have the time to pull off the impossible.
What’s more, if I did manage to publish five books this week, afterwards I would have two weeks to publish three books, which sounds so easy and relaxed in comparison that I don’t think I’d feel like I’ve earned Angels from the Realms of Glory at midnight on December 1st.
That’s not much of a problem, though, since as per previous years and all the historical data I have of myself and my tendencies to make sure I always earn that song, I would just ramp up the work quota and decide to ship 20 books, keeping up with the 5-a-week schedule.
OR I’d make it 22 books and thus push myself even further - because what is November if not progressive overload?
I suppose we’ll see after this week if I’ve managed to pull off the impossible and will just redefine impossible for the rest of the month!
