One meal a day

So I like to experiment with nutrition. I've been an omnivore, a junk food addict (think cakes and ice cream), a vegan, chicken free, pork free, beef free, keto dieter, and now, a carnivore. It's beyond fascinating to notice what changes happen in both my physical health and my mental health when I make myself follow a certain style of eating. As well with different diets, I've experimented with eating habits - mainly intermittent fasting. IF has worked nicely for me for the past few months, and now, it's time to take it to the next level.

I'm going to one meal a day for a week.

One meal a day, or OMAD, is quite self-explanatory: you eat only one meal a day. The meal is equivalent to all the meals of your day and you'll eat them at once. It might take you two hours to complete, but once you're done, you won't eat again that day - or to be specific, for the next 22 hours. The timing of your one meal you can choose yourself, but if you work out, it's recommended you eat right after the workout.

I've heard a lot of good things about OMAD in various sources in the internet and after researching the habit for quite a while, I'm ready to give it a shot. For a week to start with.

So here's the plan: I shall eat a gigantic, carnivorous meal, once a day, sometime in the afternoon when I get hungry. I'll make myself several fried/boiled eggs, butter, and servings of one or two different meats with homemade aioli or more butter. I'll probably end up so stuffed after the meal that not eating anything for another 22 hours shouldn't be a problem.

What I, according to my research, can do during the fast, is drink

  • coffee,
  • tea,
  • apple cider vinegar, and
  • water.

And that is it.

For the next seven days, I shall take notes on my physical health, mental health, and other changes. After a week, or next Sunday [EDIT May 19th: I'll do it on Monday], I'll analyze my findings and present my results here on WIP.

Wish me luck!
