Let's talk about work for a second.
I haven't published anything all year. I've been working on manuscripts for a couple of months now, sure, but I didn't manage to ship anything until this week. Here are some observations about this:
- Starting work (working on the first versions of manuscripts) was harder than I had thought it would be. In my mind, I just remembered work being easy and fun, but for some reason, my muscle memory had forgotten the easy and fun part.
- However, I got over it quite fast, and it's been progressively easier the longer I've been working now.
- This week, I got back to the fine tuning (editing, formatting, cover design, and publishing), and once I got over the initial inertia, it's been such fun! I can't believe I went such a big portion of the year not doing any publishing work at all!
So far this week, I've shipped books about the royalty mindset, mysterious energy, and detachment theory. Later this week, we're having a book about aesthetic style and another about a secret subject I'm not at liberty to discuss. How exciting!
Anyway, today was Friday so naturally I got absolutely nothing done work-wise (except rave about it here) and therefore I suppose I'll be up all evening/night working to get the next one out and about.
If pulling all-nighters in November doesn't qualify as taking the ring to Mordor, I don't know what does. Yay!
