Spa day, or a practical approach to self care

. 1 min read

Spa day is finally here! Sure, I didn't get to do it last Friday, but surely enough, another sure Friday came and now I'm surely going. Two hours of cold plunges, saunas, and sitting on a hot stone, reading Dracula and meditating. What else could one do to take care of the self?

Well, here are a few more practical approaches:

  1. Don't poison yourself. Only put stuff in your body that does good. (For me, poison equals sugar, grains, casein, and seed oils.)
  2. If intrusive thoughts try to invade your mind, assign them as temporary, remember that this is not the real you, and trust that the real you will come back at any moment and realize how stupid and alien the thoughts were.
  3. Pillars of health - which, at least to my 2022 self, were apparently work, diet, and exercise. Work has become less and less important over the years, but a brisk walk does still work wonders. And diet I already mentioned above, although unlike before when I was focusing on what to eat, now I focus more on avoiding those poisonous ingredients.

Now I have to go, my spa time is approaching. (And afterwards... shopping!)
