Summer wisdom 3:
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
This is a quote by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche that nicely captures the essence of Nassim Taleb's antifragility - that some things become better when they're shaken up a bit. Some people don't like the Nietzsche quote. My experience is that those people are generally lost hope in life. They've probably been kicked down one too many times and are now cynical about all things life.
But I'm not one of those people. I've had a lot of tough situations in my life and I know all of them have been beneficial to me - mainly because the way I see it, an adversity is always a chance to grow.
(Or perhaps I just haven't been kicked enough.)
