Update on the Penthouse project, late September!

. 1 min read

The Penthouse project is progressing with speed these days. After the last update, I've managed to actually get stuff done. This could be because my friend was coming over to dogsit and I was not going to let the place be a construction site. So here's what's gotten done lately:

  1. We finally have a chandelier in the bedroom.
  2. I installed new stylish cord sets for the ceiling lights in the kitchen and the living room. (The old ones were horrendous.)
  3. I cleaned and organized the whole place for the friend, so now the place looks a little more presentable - no more random pieces of wood around, which is always a plus.
  4. The bookcase extension pieces the sawing of which I dreaded so much are done and in their right places and the bookcase now looks amazing (and level!).
  5. The bird cage is in place and looks amazing.
  6. The last piece of the TV cabinet is ready and getting into place, which means not only that soon it'll look ten times cooler again but also that I'll get some books off the floor (finally).
  7. I got the headboard fabric!
  8. Also - did I mention I ordered new upholstery for the divan? It's on its way and should be here early October!

In other words, things are progressing fast and in major fashions. All there's left now is:

  1. The nightstands - we're using chairs at the moment and they're not ideal.
  2. I could make some holes in the TV cabinet to direct cords more discreetly.
  3. Also... installing the remaining shelf for the TV cabinet and painting it.
  4. When the new divan upholstery arrives, I'll install it.
  5. Hanging some wall art.
  6. Building the headboard.
  7. I'll also need some storage under the bathroom sink.
  8. We also also have some ambient lighting to hang on the balcony.

But I suppose that's it! While the place is already amazing, those additions will make it even more so, and when they're done, I can finally start visualizing Christmas decorations!
