30 days until Christmas 2024

How is it already 30 days until Christmas, when it's still November? I don't get it. (I mean, of course I get it, I just don't condone it. There has to be more time to wait for Christmas. There just has to be. Otherwise it'll be over too fast.)

So anywho! Five days of work left in the month - then Saturday will fly by in a bliss of cleaning and grocery shopping and F1 and Knives Out and road tripping - and then, the wait is over.

The wait for my holiday, that is. To me, Christmas starts December 1st, and will build steadily towards the 24th through specific activities, like decorating, getting a tree, sending cards, and going to church.

If time is flying now, how fast will it slip by in December? And how weird is it that the passage of time seems to vary from day to day?

Here are the corresponding articles from 2018 and 2023. Apparently, this date last year, I was already finding tons of good gifts and had pulled out holiday dishware. And in 2018, I was already making Christmas cards.

Well, at least I've started gift shopping. But cards? I haven't even thought of cards.

Luckily, considering the passage of time, there's tons of time left...
