Freedom and fear, a personal account, part 3

. 1 min read

Sometimes we stress out about something that hasn't happened yet, that might never happen, and the stressing out about which brings us no benefit. (Not sure if that last part was grammatically correct, but perhaps you get what I mean.)

I guess it has something to do with survival instinct. But what weird things and scenarios arouse our survival instincts! And what if the panic is actually a sign that you should go head first into that stressful scenario - because you'll come out stronger on the other side?

Anyway, note to self:

  1. Your dreams are valid. Never compromise over things that matter the most to you.
  2. Fear is a chance for growth. You can make some amendments.
  3. Don't paralyze over stuff that hasn't happened. You're an active agent. No one can make you do things against your will.
  4. I get that you fear that you'll lose something that you love. I get that you fear having to let go of something meaningful. I get that you fear a prison. But remember that you can make the most out of any situation and that something better will come with leaving something behind.

One day, you'll think back and wonder why it took you so long to take the leap.

RK out.

P.S. Here are parts 1 and 2 of the series.
